Abstract

Coal resource estimation is very important in calculating the resource value of these minerals, so the determination of the estimation method must be in accordance with the geological conditions of its occurrence because it can determine the level of geological confidence in the deposits of these minerals. The purpose of this study was to determine the estimation of measured, indicated and inferred coal resources at the research location at PT XYZ using the Circular USGS 1983 method. Calculation of coal resources using this method was carried out with data such as geological conditions in the field, outcrop data, and data drilling results and supported by geological maps. Then, the data is applied with supporting programs such as ArcGIS ArcMAP 10.8 to create resource distribution maps, research location maps and drill point distribution maps. The data from the drilling results that have been obtained is then processed using the USGS Circular calculation formula 1983, namely by making corrections to the area by dividing the area value by the cosine dip value of the coal outcrop. Next, find the value of the volume of coal by multiplying the average thickness of the coal with the corrected area of ​​the coal resource. Then, for the tonnage, that is by multiplying the coal volume value by the coal density value. From the results of the data processing, a measured resource with a radius of 500 m from the information point is 1.104.478,9 tons, an indicated resource with a radius of 1.000 m from the information point is 2.074.384,52 tons and an inferred resource with a radius of 1.500 m from the information point is 1.908.541,01 tons.
