Analisis Manfaat Biaya Penerapan Intermediate Stockpile Di Nickel Hill PT Vale Indonesia Tbk

PT Vale Indonesia, Tbk. would have constructed intermediate stockpile to overcome the increasing of hauling distance from mining front to the screening station to increase productivity of the loading and hauling equipments. The purpose of this research was to analyze the investment feasibility of intermediate stockpile implementation by using cost benefit analysis by considering time value of money and sensitivity analysis to know the influencing variables of investment feasibility. The data were ore and overburden production target, equipments specification, cycle time, work efficiency, nickel prices, equipments price, equipments rental cost, equipments operating cost, and construction costs of stockpile. Based on results of the equipment model, it is necessary to add two units of haulage equipment of Caterpillar 777D and one unit of Caterpillar 992D. Procurement of equipments are carried out with purchase alternative because its present value is smaller than rental alternative. The present value of purchase alternative’s cost is US $ 21,263,642 and rental alternative’s is US $ 25,133,374.28. Benefit cost ratio value of the investment is 1.42 and net present value (NPV) is US $ 5,764,942.74 which means that the intermediate stockpile investment is feasible. The results of sensitivity analysis show that decreasing of Ni production, decreasing of Ni price, and increasing of operational cost influence the feasibility of intermediate stockpile investments because the NPV becomes negative (not feasible).
