ANALISIS GAYA APUNG (BUOYANCY) PADA SISTEM PERPIPAAN GAS DI AREA FLOWLINE DAN TRUNKLINE

In the installation of the gas piping system, many things are taken into account. One of which is the buoyant force on a pipe. The pipe will be determined by the particular measure which will have the potential of the buoyant force which can be anticipated and no harm. This research aimed to determine the pipe on the flowline or the trunkline area which requires the control of the anti buoyancy and the way how to overcome the buoyant force on the pipe. The method used to determine the pipe which requires the control of anti buoyant force is by calculating based on the size of the pipe in the flowline and trunkline areas. The result of the buoyant calculation indicated that the pipe on the flowline area with a size of 8 inches with the buoyant force value of 226.29 lb, 12 inches with the buoyant force value of 979.37 lb and on the trunkline area with a size of 4 inches with the buoyant force value of -51.16 lb. In conclusion, the pipe which requires the control of anti-buoyant force is the pipe on the flowline area and the control of anti buoyant force can be made the concrete which shapes like a saddle horse and should have a heavier weight than the buoyant value of the pipe of 8 and 12 inches.
