Abstract

Water is an important need for human survival. The supply of water must be considered in terms of both quantity and quality, particularly in the area outside the mining activity area, where water may be polluted to the point of being unsafe for consumption. This research will focus on identifying the quality of water based on pH and TSS by analyzing quality water in the area surrounding PT Prima Utama Lestari's nickel ore mining site in the form of four water samples, including standing water and stream water. The Environmental Laboratory UPTD of the East Luwu Regency Government of South Sulawesi will conduct the studies. The flow of mining activity water at S1 and S2 and puddle water at E2 according to the conditions of pH (pH = S1(6.24), S3(6.73), and E2 (6.52)) and TSS (TSS = S1(8.2), S3(12), and E2 (5.1)) are below and below the specified quality standard, according to water chemistry and quality standards stated by the Minister of Environment Regulation No. 09 year 2006, PERMENKES No. 32 The pH of E1 (5.85) in puddle water is categorized as weak acid, it is below the quality standard threshold, and the TSS (1.8) is also below the standard. The sort of rock that is passed during runoff has an impact on the water conditions at E1. As a result, the water around mining operations is not polluted and can be used as drinking water, however it is not used.
