Efektifitas Kulit Buah Kakao (Theobroma Cacao L) Sebagai Antibakteri Terhadap Escherichia Coli (E.Coli) dan Biosorben Terhadap Logam Cd dalam Air Menggunakan Aktivator Asam Nitrat (HNO3)

Along with industrial development in Indonesia, industrial pollution has also increased sharply. Pollutants can be in the form of microbiological or chemical materials. This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of cocoa pod husk extract (Theobroma Cacao L) in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia Coli bacteria and to determine the effect of cocoa pod husk biosorbent concentration on the reduction of Cd metal in water. Cocoa pod skin extract was obtained from the extraction process using the maceration method and 96% ethanol solvent, then concentrated using a rotary evaporator. Cocoa pod husk extract was able to inhibit bacterial growth, namely the antibacterial test of each extract with a concentration of 0%, 25%, 50% and 75% produced an inhibition zone of 0 mm, 9 mm, 13 mm and 22 mm. The greater the concentration of the extract that is contacted on E. coli bacteria, the greater the inhibitory power against E. coli bacteria. The biosorbent of the cocoa pod husk was activated with HNO3 0.6 N. 6183 mg / L from the initial waste concentration of 3.4250 mg / L. So that the absorption effectiveness is obtained, namely 17.15%, 67.26% and 76.45%. The greater the concentration of the extract of the cocoa pods, the greater the absorption of Cd metal contained in water.
