Abstract

The investigation of subsurface rock layers is very crucial to find out some critical information before carrying out construction projects. One of the geophysical methods that can be applied to determine shallow subsurface features is the seismic refraction method. This research aims to detect rock layers that are quite shallow. Retrieval of field data is carried out in two tracks with four shootings on each track. Based on the results of this research, the investigated subsurface area consists of 3 layers based on differences in speed. The first layer is a weathered layer with a velocity of 300 m/s, the second layers contain unsaturated sand with the velocity of 867 m/s - 1056 m/s and the third layers are the clay layer with the velocity of 1369 m/s - 1999 m/s. This is shown in the two measured lines. Based on the type of different rock layers, the area has undergone a weathering process.
