The research was conducted in Tungku Jaya Village, Sosoh Buay Rayap District, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra. The location of this research is geologically located in the South Sumatra Basin, precisely in the Kasai Formation. This study aims to understand the characteristics of the tuff of the Kasai Formation at the study site. The Kasai Formation is a product of a volcanic activity that occurred in the Pliocene - Pleistocene. The lithology of this formation is a tuff that megascopically contains pumice and charcoal fragments. This study requires field observations in order to obtain primary data from outcrops which will later be used for petrographic analysis of the tuff rocks used as samples. There are two methods used in this research, namely field observation which aims to determine the condition of rocks megascopically and to determine the distribution of rocks to the processes that affect rock formation. Furthermore, petrographic analysis which aims to determine the mineral content of rocks in thin sections. There are four observation points used for petrographic analysis with glass base mass and floating contact so that the glass tuff is named.
