Abstract

The location of this research is on the slope of KM 88,4, Mallawa District, Maros Regency which is in a walanae formation composed of alternating sandstones, conglomerates, tuffs of claystone. In the research location, samples of tuff rock were found with a very high level of weathering and a very steep slope of 840. This should be noted because the unstable slopes of the road will have the potential for landslides. Therefore, a research was conducted on slope stability analysis using the bishop method. This study aims to calculate the value of bulk density, cohesion and shear angle in the tuff sample, calculate the safety factor (FK) of the slope using the bishop method and provide recommendations for which slope reinforcement can be done. The research methodology used is to use a primary consisting of rock position data and slope geometry, and secondary data from books and journals covering the lithology of the research area and laboratory test data of tuff rock samples in previous studies. The test results obtained will be processed manually or using software. Based on the bishop method, data processing is done by making several slices and repeating iterations until the FK-F value = ≤0.001 is obtained and it meets the safety factor value standard based on the 2014 Public Works Department regulation FK> 1.25. After obtaining the appropriate safety factor value, analysis is carried out and provides recommendations for the appropriate slope strengthening. The laboratory test results showed that the value of the content weight was 12.4 kN / m3, the cohesion value was 0.6 kpa and the inner shear angle value was 30.450. The value of the safety factor (FK) based on manual calculation iterations 1 to 4 is 1.19, 0.92, 0.96 and 1.26 which are considered unsafe conditions based on the regulations of the Department of Public Works, the FK value is> 1.25. The recommendations for slope strengthening are to make supports by building concrete walls or installing steel wire nets to prevent and minimize the impact of the landslides that occur and spray cement liquid to make it more compact again.
