This study is motivated by how important the geotechnic recommendation for supporting the underground mine. Recommendations that will ensure the production will be providing the benefits to the company. Geostatistical methods could support the geotechnical recommendation. The purpose of this study is to determine the spatial correlation between Rock Mass Rating (RMR) classification and the types of rock alteration. The type of RMR classification and rock alteration data are categorical type, so they could be converted to the indicator data 1 and 0 (binary). One of the geostatistical estimation methods for indicator data is Indicator Kriging (IK). The dataset was obtained from drill core that taken around 30 drills in underground gold mine at Pandeglang, Banten Province. The correlation between RMR classification and type of rock alteration isassessed from their proportion. The result showed that klorite, silisified, and epidote-kloritehave strong correlation with fair RMR, meanwhile illite has strong correlation with poor RMR.
