Abstract

Kilometer 18 of the Kolaka trans provincial road is one of the main road accesses resulting from the reduction of foot slopes which often experience instability. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the conditions and geometry of the road slope on the stability of the slope and to calculate the rate of movement or movement of the rock mass or of the ground in slope formation and analyze the types of landslides that can occur on the slope. This study uses two methods, namely the direct monitoring method using total station monitoring instruments or Theodolit and the finite numerical modeling method of the 2D Rocscience phase method as another approach used to obtain a visual image of the deformations that can occur on slopes. The results showed that the characteristics of materials forming slopes were dominated by soft rock with rock hardness values ranging from 25 to 50 MPa and soils with significant weathering levels greater than 70%. due to the presence of mica and shale minerals which have very easy characteristics altered by the presence of water in humidity areas. The results of the deformation rate monitoring based on the direct monitoring method and 2D digital modeling show that the slopes of the trans provincial routes of the KM 18 Kolaka are classified as critical slopes with an average deformation rate ranging from 5 to 215 mm / day and from 30 to 114 mm / day. where, under normal conditions, the value of the slope deformation rate is only <12 mm / day. From the results of the study, it is also known that the types of avalanches that occur on the slopes of the trans province of KM 18 Kolaka which are identified by direct observation on the basis of the correlation approach of Slope material compilers are the types of rotational landslides.
