A factor which affects a quality of coal – rice husk bio - briquette is its adhesiveness. The implications which may arise from the adhesiveness of bio - briquette are slow ignition at pre-combustion stage, storage time, and calorific value. To overcome the problems, it is important to improve the adhesiveness by optimizing the mixing of an adhesive material with coal – rice husk. In this research, sago starch and paraffin were used as adhesives. It was found that the adhesiveness increased with increasing the ratio of sago starch and paraffin which gave the adhesiveness of 1,59 kg/cm2 at the ratio of 3: 20, calorific value of 5573 kcal/kg for sago starch adhesive and adhesiveness of 1,16 kg/cm2 at the ratio of 4 : 20, calorific value of 7300 kcal/kg for paraffin adhesive.
