Abstract

One of the obstacles in the nickel mining is the changing assay of nickel (Ni) and iron content (Fe) from drilling results data that do not correspond to actual results of mining assay. The study aims to determine the percentage change in the assay of nickel (Ni) and iron (Fe) from drilling results data with actual results of mining. The research method includes processing a sample of the drilling results and the actual results of mining in the lab to unknown assay. The next stage is done processing and data analysis to determine the level of the average of the assay of nickel and iron. The results of the identification data of the point of the drill produces an average grade of 1.90% Ni and Fe = = 22.86% while the result of the average level of actual results of mining Ni and Fe = 1.86% = 20.55%. While the assay are lost due to mining process, namely Ni and Fe = 0.04% = 2.31%. From the results of this study concluded that the assay of the results of the identification data of drill points decreased assay once mined, where the percentage change of nickel at 2.10% while the iron is at 10.10%.
