Abstract

Blasting is a separation of activities or solving masive rock solid nature of the parent rock to facilitate the processing of the production phase. The research activities conducted at PT. Semen Bosowa Maros Maros are located in South Sulawesi. This research aims to study the technical effect of the use of rice husk blasting activity to determine the effect of rice bran on the results of blasting. The research methodology quantitative descriptive analysis of data obtained is data fragmentation Blasting documentation, documentation of data Zero Oxygen Balance (ZOB), the data and ANFO mixing rice husk, consumption data and ANFO rice husks, Geological Map of the study area, blasting geometry data, and size fragmentation. How to capture the data that is by following the direct observation blasting activities and conduct interviews with the foreman and others who knew about the blasting. The explosion of the use of rice husk reached oxigen Zero balance (ZOB) marked with white to black smoke which does not produce gases (fumes) NO2 excessively with the advent of yellowish smoke, fragmentation results in the field already meet the standards fragmentation of companies, namely a maximum of 80 cm or can be solved by giratory crusher. by using rice husk blasting activity at PT. Semen Bosowa Maros can save on the cost of the use of ammonium nitrate in the amount of 20%.
